SLA Counsel Issues Opinion on Gambling

The article in the SLA newsletter discussing gambling in a licensed establishment mentions an Opinion of Counsel issued recently on the subject of gambling in licensed premises. What is included in the opinion that was not mentioned in the newsletter is that licensees should be guided by the opinion and should no longer rely on the Texas Hold ‘Em advisory published by the Authority in May 2005. Licensees conducting Texas Hold ‘Em or considering conducting this activity should review this opinion and may want to consult with an attorney in order to understand its impact on your business.
