David Jabour, the CEO and co-owner of Austin, Texas-based Twin Liquors was elected President of the American Beverage Licensees at the Annual ABL Convention on March 3rd. Jabour will serve a two-year term as the leader of the national trade association. Jabour will be joined in his leadership role by a newly-elected slate of ABL officers that includes Vice Presidents Skip Boise of The Tavern in Cortland, NY; Chuck Ferrar of Bay Ridge Wine & Spirits in Annapolis, MD; Melvin Gitler of Herbert’s Billiards in Secaucus, NJ; Warren Scheidt of Cork Liquors in Columbus, IN and Treasurer Jane Springer of the Maryland State Licensed Beverage Association. Darrel Keck of the Dixie Inn in Shelby, MT and Bob Sprenger of Bubba’s in Marion, WI will serve as at-large members to the Executive Committee. We are quite pleased to see our own Past President Skip Boise asked to join the leadership of our national association. In a ceremony during the Final Night Banquet of the Convention, ABL joined Brown-Forman in recognizing the 2009 Brown-Forman Retailers of the Year. The awards are presented annually to recognize and honor dedicated members of the ABL’s state and regional affiliates. Among this year’s honorees was our own Fran Walton of the Wilderness Inn II in Wilmington, New York. Congratulations to Fran for receiving this honor and a big thank you for all she has done to support our industry. |
